We caught up with Sam Bigwood, the Lakes Concierge Manager to get some first hand information & ideas for keeping busy whilst at the Lakes by Yoo.
The Lakes: Hi Sam, thanks for taking the time to answer a few of our questions and share some of your Lakes by Yoo wisdom! To start off, what would you say is a fun activity to do at the Lakes?
Sam: A great way to spend a winter afternoon with the kids at the Lakes is to take a walk along the river Coln to the Riverside Shack. You can make use of the fire pit by bringing along a back pack with sausages and marshmallows for an afternoon treat while the kids explore the river and ponds. Also why not enjoy some sloe gin by the fireside to keep warm!
The Lakes: How about food, anything you would recommend?
Sam: A lovely place for some healthy organic food is the Organic Farm Shop in Cirencester. It’s open Monday to Saturday, the food is vegetarian but with a very wide selection and also being fully organic it’s a great healthy alternative to a boozy pub lunch.
The Lakes: What about a place for the grown ups?
Sam: Nothing beats a his & hers massage at our relaxing Orchard Spa, followed by cocktails on deck mixed by your own mixologist to enjoy as the sun goes down over the lakes.
The Lakes: And finally how about a place of natural beauty?
Sam: Highgrove Gardens are everything an english country garden should be. Set in the beautiful Cotswold countryside the gardens they are certainly fit for a prince.
The Lakes: Thanks for your time Sam!
Sam: You’re welcome, see you around our beautiful estate.
