An early morning swim. An afternoon in the Spa. An evening barbecue. The days pass at your own pace at The Lakes, giving you the chance to create an unforgettable collection of family memories.
Teeming with trout, pike, perch, carp, tench, roach and bream, Huntsman Lake has everything you need for a relaxing day’s fishing. At the Fishing Hut, you can arrange lessons or hire tackle, rods and other equipment. Then simply head over to the Saturday Hook & Cook Barbeque to share your stories and smoke your catch.
Our Kids Club will get your child excited by everything nature has to offer. This could mean water sports or safaris on the Lakes, camping or putting on a play in our outdoor theatre. But it might be something simpler: feeding the estate’s chickens in their run, exploring the herb gardens, taking a turn at bee keeping or building a den in the woods.
Whether you’re indulging a lifelong passion for racing lasers or simply trying something new, this is the perfect place for your family to sail. You’ll join Bowmoor Sailing Club, a child-friendly club and RYA Teaching Centre with one of the largest youth fleets in the country. Whatever time of year you take to the water, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
A serene, woodland setting adds another dimension to the award-winning Orchard Spa. With treatments by Daylesford and Oskia, a 20 metre indoor pool, gym, steam room and sauna, it rivals any in the Capital. Little surprise, then, that it consistently ranks as one of our most popular destinations.
There are countless ways to take to the water at the Lakes By Yoo. Choose canoeing and you’ll see the wildlife and unique Cotswold reed beds up close. A leisurely paddle will take you past swans, tufted ducks, water voles, heron and all the other aquatic animals and birds that make the estate so special.
There’s little to rival the excitement of launching yourself into the abyss suspended on a single steel wire. Unless it’s watching your child do exactly the same thing for the first time seconds later. Take the family zip wiring and you’ll experience both sensations, as you and the kids soar in perfect safety.
A happy child makes a happy parent. It’s a simple philosophy that guides much of our approach.
We have a full programme of family-focused events. Thanks to seasonal Easter Egg Hunts and a wide array of other clubs and one-off activities, the long school holidays are never drawn out.
Entertainment meets education in Ben Fogle’s School of Wild which brings the Cotswold countryside alive, or our School of Rock in which your child can kick-start their climb to rock-god status. Equally, our regular BBQs bring the whole community together over freshly caught perch and chilled Chardonnay.
